The functions/responsibilities of the Sr. Database Administrator are listed below:
Provide administration and tactical direction for databases used by applications supporting the company. Responsible for the availability, backup, and recovery of the database as needed to meet business requirements. Manage all types of tables in the databases. Work with systems development teams in analyzing database design requirements, size requirements and to ensure proper development techniques are used. Provide problem resolution support and recommendation to management for critical problem resolution. Responsible for providing disaster recovery planning and testing when needed. Will provide mentoring / coaching and when required some supervision of junior level personnel. Responsible for supporting and enforcing secure database practices. When required will provide recommendations on strategic direction with regards to database software. Responsible for all aspects of supporting the management of the databases.

- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or at least 7 years of experience
- 5-7 years of Oracle database experience required (recent 10g RAC experience preferred)
- SQL tuning experience is required.
- Experience writing SQL*Plus to assist with database administration.
- Large shop experience (Data Warehouse and PeopleSoft)
- Symantec i3 usage experience including generating performance reports
- Additional experience with administration of Hyperion, Business Objects and Discoverer desired
