Job Description
  • Acquire accounts and manage sales within an assigned territory; targeting new opportunities and implementing sales strategies to penetrate active accounts
  • Maintain relationships with existing accounts and capitalize profits through effective pricing, product mix and account management (lines per order, order size, gross profits, and accounts receivable)
  • Professionally and efficiently manage problems with accounts in order to maintain relationship, promote goodwill, enhance company’s reputation, and capitalize on opportunities to increase sales
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, pricing, services, market needs and competitors’ practices
  • Accountable for management of customer’s account receivables and timely processing of payments
  • Actively participate in sales activities, promotion programs, food cuttings, vendor training and food/concept shows to promote sales, increase product knowledge and maintain good customer and vendor relations
  • Resolve service failures through delivery of customer “product as needed
  • Perform vacation relief duties for other Territory Managers
  • Deal professionally on the phone and in person with customers and fellow employees
Submit timely reports to department manager
Qualifications
  • College degree is required and must be verified OR proof of comparable sales/work experience
  • 3 years of hotel/restaurant management experience and/or 3 years of foodservice, beverage and/or foodservice equipment or chemical/non-food sales experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, motivation and energy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Knowledge of Austin and/or San Antonio and surrounding areas, or other key markets served by this Division, including McAllen/Harlingen and Corpus Christi.
  • Strong problem-solving, and organization/time management skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft application skills (Word and Excel)

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
