Seafood Report
|
Seafood- September US shell on (10.8%) and total (3.1%) shrimp imports were lower than the prior year which is not surprising given the depressed shrimp prices and US dollar value. 2009 through September US shrimp imports were 2.5% smaller than a year ago. US shrimp imports going forward could be mitigated by the above mentioned factors which eventually should be bullish for the shrimp markets. 2009 through September US salmon filet/steak imports were 5.6% less than 2008.
