Learn More about Food Safety
U.S. Foodservice leads the industry with a unique, comprehensive program that provides food safety training specific for our associates, whether they are drivers, distribution center employees, supervisors or sales associates. Training continues on a regular basis, with updates at least once a year.
First Level. As part of our routine practices, our on-site supervisors check associates' compliance with food safety policies, every day and for every shipment.
Second Level. Auditing at this level is carried out by one of the country’s leading authorities on food safety management. Following principles from The American National Standards Institute, these audits are based on local, state and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices and our own standards of safety and quality. U.S. Foodservice can work closely with your team to provide all resulting information and documentation.
Third Level. At the regional and corporate levels, we have trained Food Safety Managers, as well as corporate associates who conduct thorough verifications and provide food safety support for each distribution center. These Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) professionals are trained to answer your food safety and quality questions.

U.S. Foodservice offers you full access to our extensive food safety and quality assurance knowledge and expertise. Whenever you face a food safety question or need food safety or quality information call on us. And watch for our food safety bulletins and reports on new and emerging food safety and food quality issues.
U.S. Foodservice is also a comprehensive resource for training to help meet food safety certification requirements. We are a proud supporter of the ServSafe® Food Safety Manager Training and Certification program. ServSafe is the program most accepted by health departments that require food safety training and/or certification. The ServSafe program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as meeting the Conference for Food Protection (CFP) standards for accreditation and therefore meets the requirements of the FDA code.
Making sure you always get safe, high quality products from U.S. Foodservice is one way we help you protect - and grow - your business. Our main goal is always to help you succeed.
